- Timely and safe driving OEA Staff members, consultants, project guests, project visitors, in the project official vehicles
- Performing tasks related to the daily maintenance of the vehicle;
- Maintaining daily vehicle logs (mileage, fuel consumption, travel routs) and submitting logs to the project administrative assistant on a timely basis;
- Ensuring that repair and maintenance services are done on project vehicles in time;
- Ensuring that all instructions regulating safe driving behavior and Rules of the Road are in hand and strictly followed;
- Ensuring that the vehicle has valid insurance;
- Driving the project’s vehicle for delivery and collection of mails, documents, pouches, equipment and other administrative tasks as required under the project;
- Providing assistance in checking the completeness of micro-projects documents and following up on missing records;
- Assist in the organization of and logistical preparation for field trips, visiting missions, etc.
- Assist in reviewing records related to in-country missions and field trips;
- Support in registry of incoming and outgoing documents and correspondence;
- Provide operational support to project activities;
- Assist in general maintenance of the office premises;
Work implies frequent interaction with the following:
The Operations Expert, the OEA Director and other members of the UN electoral assistance office; senior staff and officers of IHEC and other national institutions involved in the electoral process; other staff and officers working at the UNAMI office.
Results Expected:
- The support of the United Nations in the area of responsibility contributes to credible and inclusive elections, minimizing violence and maximizing the chances of legitimate government, peace and stability;
- The United Nations mandated support in the area of responsibility is implemented effectively, using resources efficiently and minimizing risks to the organization;
- The supervisor has access to accurate and timely information as well as advice on the electoral process and its implications
Impact of Results
The key results have a direct impact on the overall successful achievement of the Iraq UN Partnership Framework of the project 2024 KRG Elections – Operational Support to UNAMI for the KRG Elections.
Education/Experience/Language requirements:
Education:
- Secondary Education; Valid Iraqi driving license (minimum category B).
Work Experience
- At least 3 years of professional driving experience.
- Experience working with the UN, a UN agency or an international organization on electoral issues is desired.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive within a complex multicultural and multinational environment strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of UN rules, regulations, policies and procedures is an asset.
Language Requirements:
- Fluency in the UN and national language of the duty station
- Good knowledge in the Kurdish language, knowledge of English would be an asset.
