Automotive A/C Specialist - IQ Talent Marketplace

The Automotive A/C Specialist will be based at one of three Amentum sites in Iraq and serve the Operations and Maintenance Support Services (OMSS) in support of the U.S. Department of State. This position will be responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems of motor vehicles and will report to the Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.

DUTIES:

• Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
• Comply with all Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements and goals.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and perform installation of air conditioning systems in motor vehicles.
• Test systems for proper function, perform emergency repairs, maintain tools, order supplies, and make routine adjustments to maximize operational efficiency.
• Record data when inspecting systems, such as ambient air temperature, suction and discharge pressures using manifold gauges or Robinair machines.
• Replace fan clutches, condensers, condenser fans, refrigerant lines, compressors, actuators, pressure switches and control units.
• Replace evaporators by removing steering columns, dashboards, and air bags safely.
• Fill compressor with proper oil and recharge system with proper amount of refrigerant.
• Make electrical connections as required.
• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

REQUIRED:

• Minimum Acceptable Experience Level:
• At least two (2) years of Automotive Air Conditioning service and repair experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Able to operate A/C service machine.

Knowledge about the theory and design of air conditioning, heating, refrigeration and ventilation systems.

Able to carry out automotive A/C repairs independently.

Experience providing excellent customer services.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.

Cross-cultural sensitivity with an international perspective.

Ability to become an active and functioning member of a team.

Education:

• High school diploma and GED.

Licenses and Certifications:

• EPA 609 Motor Vehicle Air Conditioning Certification
• Security Vetting: Already possess a US Government issued security clearance or Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) or be able to obtain a favorable MRPT certification or US Government clearance prior to being hired is required for the position. Must maintain eligibility at the required certification or clearance level for the duration of the contract.
• Language Skills: Strong, professional, oral and written English communication skills.
• Medical: Successfully complete and pass the medical and dental examinations as required by Amentum and our customer for deployment to Iraq. Must maintain physical and dental requirements for duration of deployment.

DESIRED:

• Education from a vocational or automotive school.
• Previous out of home country experience is highly desirable and previous work experience in harsh environmental conditions.
• Experience working with Amentum.
