- POST CONTEXT
NMI is a non-combat, demands-driven advisory and training mission which executes its tasks in close cooperation with Iraqi partners.
The PSE Division advises different Iraqi Professional Military and Security Education Institutions. PME Branch advises different Iraqi Professional Military Education Institutions under the Iraqi MoD. The Ministerial Training Development Centre (MTDC) Advisory Team provides NMI advice, focusing on the three main development themes: Faculty development, Curriculum development and Institutional Development for the Iraqi MTDC.
Within MTDC, the incumbent’s main responsibility is to advise MTDC staff on faculty, curricula and institutional development..
The Advisor ( MTDC ) reports to NTI PMI 0010 – Senior Advisor (MTDC).
- DUTIES
Assist the Senior Advisor in reviewing and refreshing curricula of Ministerial Training and Development Centre (MTDC) courses.
Advise and assist Senior Advisor in designing MTDC instructor induction and continuous professional development.
Advise faculty in Training Management Systems and Systems Approach to Training.
Develop new lesson plans and training objectives.
Mentor Iraqi instructors on the organization of lectures, translation, conferences and study visits.
Prepare related documents and reports for Team Leader.
The employee may be required to perform a similar range of duties elsewhere within the organisation at the same grade without there being
any change to the contract
The incumbent is required to undertake operation deployments and/or TDY assignments both within and without NATO’s boundaries.
The incumbent must be prepared for temporary reassignment within NMI’s authorized CE in accordance with ACO 045-003 and as directed by COM NMI, in support of operational requirements.
Given the dynamic operating environment in Iraq, the incumbent must be prepared to retrograde from the Greater Baghdad Area, possibly at short notice, for employment in locations outside of the borders of Iraq and under austere conditions for prolonged periods of time.
Travel often outside base for advising.
Under routine circumstances, the work is normally performed in a Normal NATO office working environment / Secure office environment with artificial light and air (e.g. Bunker).
Within the current identified threats, the overall risk is medium. The level of threat requires adherence to the detailed in-theatre instructions on personnel security.
The risk may increase if personnel are moving outside of designated secure areas.
The incumbent may be required to perform like duties elsewhere within the organisation as directed.
- QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
University Degree and 5 years post related experience;
Teaching and/or instructor training post-graduate qualification;
Subject Matter Expertise (SME) related to the management of civilian educational institutes.
Proven success in delivering instructor training, to include training, both theory and practical skills.
Design and manage tailored program(s) in a training and educational context.
English Standard Language Proficiency level of “Expert” in listening and reading, speaking and writing, (SLP 3333 based on NATO standards).
DESIRABLE
Masters Degree in Education or Management.
Held a position in a training or educational institution at middle management level.
Designing training and planning curriculums.
Teaching different learning styles and challenging training environments.

ADL 169 – Improving Operational Effectiveness by Integrating Gender Perspective.
ADL 171 – Gender Focal Point.
ADL 224 – Introduction to NSO Operational Law Course.

- EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
The successful candidate will be offered a 12-month definite duration contract, based on operational need/funding for the position.
The basic salary for an MCIV 6 is Euro € 6,705.00 per month (exempt from local taxation). A further amount of 12% of the basic salary will be paid to the staff member every month to satisfy personal pension obligations, plans, and/or schemes. Furthermore, the successful candidate may be eligible to event-based allowances ( hazard, austere, extended working hours), in accordance with the conditions stipulated by the Mission Civilian Rules.
