Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a New Business Development Manager in EMEA to join our Pharma Business with focus on Film coatings market. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Sales function. This position will be remote and could be based in one of our EU regions. This position will report to Life Sciences General Manager in the EMEA region.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- This position is a leadership role wherein he/she will be leading the development and Execution of the EMEA Aquarius Business strategy working hand in hand with current account managers
- Responsible for coordinating/orchestrating the requirements to drive the pipeline and deliver expected growth
- Develop business in new and existing markets in alignment with the Pharma-Film Coatings strategy ($8-15M in 5 years)
- Keep the business health ensuring profitability according to the business goals (EBITDA above 30%)
- Evaluate and create new market spaces to expand the current business portfolio
- Identify key stakeholders within the customers’ organization to build and foster strong relationships leading to mutually beneficial partnerships
- Collaborate with R&D, technical service, regulatory, sales and marketing teams to successfully convert the opportunity pipeline
- Travel: 30-50% domestically and within the region to maintain customer intimacy and contact, learning about new developments or unmet needs for customers such that Ashland gets a “first call” in the film coatings space
- Actively contribute to the organizational goals by taking initiative, executing on goals and focusing on performance and safety
- Improve the organization capacity and capabilities through building collaborative relationships, optimizing diverse talent and utilizing positive communications and influence with others
In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or business
- 5-10 years business development experience in the pharma industry specifically in film coatings applications/market
- Demonstrated responsible and ethical behavior at all times
- The ability to help the company drive greater value through understanding the business, making complex decisions and creating the new and different
- Able to lead through influence and get the best out of people
- Business acumen with knowledge of local commercial matters.
- Builds strong peer relationships Action Oriented with a drive for results.
- Self-Motivated & Disciplined.
The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:
- Advanced degree in science, engineering, or MBA
- 5+ years business development or marketing experience in a regulated industry
- Six Sigma certification
