Job Purpose
The Construction Lead – Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) is responsible for overseeing and managing electrical and instrumentation engineering activities related to construction projects, including commissioning, FEED, design, onshore, brownfield, and site development. This role ensures that all E&I work packages are accurately prepared and executed efficiently, adhering to project deadlines and specifications.
Job Responsibilities
- Work Package Development: Create and oversee detailed work packages for electrical and instrumentation engineering activities that align with project requirements and objectives.
- Team Coordination: Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure timely and efficient completion of E&I work packages.
- Documentation Oversight: Review and update work package documentation as necessary to reflect project changes and improvements.
- Progress Monitoring: Track and report on the status of E&I work package execution to project management and stakeholders.
- Compliance Assurance: Ensure all electrical and instrumentation construction activities adhere to project specifications, safety standards, and industry codes.
- Commissioning Support: Assist in developing commissioning plans and procedures specific to electrical and instrumentation works to enable smooth project execution.
Technical Skills
- Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering Expertise:
- Strong understanding of electrical and instrumentation engineering principles, practices, and materials.
- Project Experience: Proven experience with commissioning, FEED, design, onshore, brownfield, and construction projects related to electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., IEEE, NEC, local building codes).
- Software Proficiency: Competence in using electrical and instrumentation design software and tools relevant to project needs.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to effectively address construction challenges.
Soft Skills
- Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and motivate a multidisciplinary team.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with team members, stakeholders, and clients.

Qualifications
- Mandatory: Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation construction planning, coordination, and management in the oil and gas industry.
Work Environment
The Construction Lead – Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) will operate in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the successful execution of electrical and instrumentation engineering activities. The role may require on-site work at construction locations, with potential travel to various project sites as needed.
