We are looking for a Construction Manager for one of our clients with the following details:

Location: Basra, Iraq

Rotation 28 days ON and 28 days OFF

1 year, renewable

Qualifications & Experience Required

  • We are looking for an experienced Construction Manager in onshore project with a very good knowledge of company General Specifications, rules, procedures and International Codes and Standards.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction field.
  • 15 years of experience in the oil industry, with significant experience in Construction.
  • Management skills.
  • Previous experience as RSES-D and driving works under SIMOPS works will be considered as a plus
  • With strong organizational and leadership, you are well known for your negotiation and communication competences. You have proven knowledge of Change Management.
  • Your skills in communication, team leading & and motivation have been appreciated in previous positions.
  • Good working knowledge of procurement procedures related to subcontracting of services is required on this position.
  • Spirit of analysis, rigor, organization, initiative, pragmatism.
  • Team player with ability to work collaboratively across complex project teams and interface between interdisciplinary departments and within an international team.
  • Fluent in English, Arabic is a plus
  • Professional Experience (number of years): 10 – 15

Activities

  • Lead and manage the DBOOM Contractor Construction activities to execute successfully EGE project and any modifications according to legal requirements, safe, environmentally sound, functional/ergonomic, according to proper specifications, high quality, on time.
  • Support and enforce project guidelines and HSE objectives.
  • Participate to the Job Safety Analysis, make suggestions, stop dangerous situations, and report anomalies and dangerous acts

Work Effectively With Engineering Team To Achieve These Goals

  • Continuously find synergies and efficiency gains with Contractor by optimizing Onshore Construction working methods
  • Proactively provide feedback to the management.
  • Proactively coach, train, implement personnel policy in your team to ensure their results are in line with company targets and to develop a positive social climate.
  • Manage coordination with other departments: Drilling, Field Operations (on and off-sites), HSEQ, Purchasing & Procurement.
  • Manage corrective actions related to engineering errors, missing materials, incomplete scope definition or site conditions.
  • Participate in feasibility, basic design detailed engineering studies (constructability, HSEQ and specification aspect)
  • Manage subcontractors doing the construction works, validation of progress and related payments, handle extra works, claims and HSEQ complaints.
  • Guide the inspectors of the notified body to obtain formal approval of compliance with legal requirements.
  • Manage the coordination of the different disciplines for multidisciplinary projects.
  • Establish the daily report (progress of work, number of personnel, highlights, etc.),
  • Participate to the periodic meetings, (preparation or control of meeting minutes),
  • Validate the acceptance of the works with the Field Operation and the Contractors.
  • Provide to the Project Manager, in accordance with the Project procedures, with all the reports, safety performance, technical progress, cost monitoring, work schedule

Goals

  • The Construction Manager is responsible of Project Construction in respect of the following: 1) safety, 2) cost efficient, 3) high quality according to specifications, 4) in time, 5) in line with legal aspects and 6) with minimum disturbance to CPF1 operations. Will guarantee transparency in relations with subcontractors. Will ensure that during feasibility, basic and detailed engineering phases, the construction team is available to participate in constructability reviews to incorporate construction issues in the project.
  • The Construction Manager is responsible of all Construction activities, up to Operations and close out of all the Punch Lists Items
  • The Construction Manager will be acting also as representative of PJC entity of all modifications and METAL works as requested by Field Operation and validated during the RFM monthly committee.
