Donation Processing Specialist (Contract)

Summary: Perform offline gift data entry as assigned for the Payments team

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Payments team in ensuring all manual offline donations are entered quickly and accurately into our database (CiviCRM) as well as small administrative tasks as needed. Examples of data assignments:
  • Provide batch summary reports to Finance monthly (END/WMF)
  • Update soft credits in Civi monthly for paypal giving fund deposits
  • Check the weekly flag files from Lock box provider and communication to stakeholders
  • Printed Check processing
  • Updating any canceled checks in CRM database
  • Send check scans to Engage to create import file and once received – import
  • Perform data entry of manual offline revenue streams, providing data files when applicable to the gift stream such as:
  • Complete data entry for Lock Box vendor, matching gifts and Donor Advised Fund gifts (check gifts)
  • Data entry into 3 import files weekly
  • Complete data entry for Paypal Grant DAF EFT gifts
  • Review and update donor information in the database to make sure donor data associated with offline gifts is entered correctly into CiviCRM and that all data is up to date and accurate
  • Coordinate with Gift Processing Specialist and lock box vendor to process offline donations efficiently, accurately, and in a timely manner to ensure a positive donor experience
  • Complete thank you letter mail merges and supply to mail house weekly
  • Assist with other donation processing activities as assigned

Skills and Experience

  • 2-4 years of experience in fundraising
  • Experience managing a database and comfortable using a CRM
  • Comfortable in Excel and working with high volume of donations
  • Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and accountability
  • Organized, efficient, and consistently meets deadlines
  • Detail-oriented and a fact checker
  • Resourceful problem solver who finds ways around roadblocks
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of donor information
  • A team player with strong communications skills
  • Knowledge of fundraising campaigns
  • Team player, who cares deeply about his or her own work
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic; Not easily discouraged

The Wikimedia Foundation is a remote-first organization with staff members including contractors based 40+ countries*. Salaries at the Wikimedia Foundation are set in a way that is competitive, equitable, and consistent with our values and culture. The anticipated annual pay range of this position for applicants based within the United States is US$36/hour to US$54/hour with multiple individualized factors, including cost of living in the location, being the determinants of the offered pay. For applicants located outside of the US, the pay range will be adjusted to the country of hire. We neither ask for nor take into consideration the salary history of applicants. The compensation for a successful applicant will be based on their skills, experience and location.
