NETWORK ENGINEER (BEC and Erbil)

As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen AND an active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret clearance to be considered.

As a Network Engineer at BEC and Erbil, you’ll be the backbone of the Department of State’s network infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity and availability of mission-critical resources. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining both local and wide area networks, troubleshooting core Cisco switches and routers, and configuring new network devices. Additionally, you’ll serve as the principal technical liaison, manage network appliances, conduct feasibility studies, and document standard operating procedures.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Estimated Starting Salary Range for NETWORK ENGINEER (BEC and Erbil): Pay commensurate with experience.

NETWORK ENGINEER (BEC and Erbil) Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintain all aspects of an enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Ensure availability of mission-critical resources.
  • Design, install, maintain, and troubleshoot system and network hardware.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues.
  • Document network layout and standard operating procedures.
  • Serve as lead engineer for specific network systems.
  • Open/close Remedy Incident Tickets for network issues.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to meet network requirements.
  • Install and maintain network appliances and cabling infrastructure.
  • Provide technical support and training for staff members.
  • Liaise with external ISPs and government IT staff.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

NETWORK ENGINEER (BEC and Erbil) Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • Bachelor’s degree in network engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience in network engineering.
  • Cisco CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent certification required.
  • Network+ and Security+ certifications required.
  • Experience with Cisco, Palo Alto devices, Prime, TACAS, ISE, SolarWinds, and Visio.
  • Secret clearance required.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
