Summary:

The Network Engineer will design, implement and work maintenance of the organization’s network, network design, architecture, protocols, and topology .

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

• Engineering enterprise data, voice and video networks
• Establishing and operating network test facilities
• Maintaining a secure transfer of data to multiple locations via internal and external networks
• Working with vendors, the Government, carriers, and technical staff on network implementation, optimization, and ongoing management
• Providing high-level support and technical expertise in networking technology, including LAN/WAN hardware, switches, bridges, and routers
• Possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments
• Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks
• Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems
• Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

• Must be detail-oriented and have in-depth knowledge of networking hardware and software
• Customer service and solutions oriented
• Critical thinking and problem solving skills

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree in a STEM field or equivalent years of experience
• 3 -5 years of related experience
• Extensive experience in areas such as network design and implementation, LAN/WAN interfacing, security, Internet protocols and TCP/IP, and server and network infrastructure is required
• Top Secret Personnel clearance with eligibility for access to SCI

Preferred Qualifications:

• A professional certification, such as Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), also is highly desirable
