Operations Manager – Iraq
Join our Services_EMEA team within Services division in Iraq as Operations Manager to help us take our business to the next level.
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
- Leading the in-country operations team in Basra including workshop, field service, HSEQ and commercial activities.
- Responsible for maintaining strict compliance with all security processes and procedures.
- Responsible for implementing HSEQ systems and supporting HSSEQ Manager.
- Accountable for HSE and welfare of operations personnel.
- Identifying and solving specific rotating equipment engineering issues.
- Preparing justification for modifications and engineering / operations improvements.
- Provide technical support to clients and internally as required.
- Lead Root Cause Failure Analyses to identify probable cause of failure and suggest improvements to enhance equipment performance.
- Provide front line engineering and troubleshooting support for all rotating machinery.
- Provide technical advice for field service and workshop teams.
- Coordinate all activity involved in investigation, reporting and resolution of any warranty issues.
- Assisting with preparation of technical proposals and tenders.
- Develop and implement operational processes and procedures.
- Provide coaching and mentoring for all operations teams.
- Develop and execute specific training plans for various skill levels.
- Participate in business development activity including client presentations.
- Project / contract management of service contracts.
- Manage planning, procurement, logistics support and operations functions.
- Recruitment, training & development of workshop personnel.
What you bring to Sulzer:
- Degree/equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 15 years’ experience in rotating equipment engineering / operations role.
- Managerial experience.
- Knowledge of repairs workshop processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of engineering codes/standards and best practice relating to rotating equipment.
- Experience of upgrade, rerate and retrofit.
- Knowledge of rotating equipment overhaul including centrifugal pumps and compressors.
- Knowledge of electric motor repair and rewinding processes.
- Experience and knowledge of relevant HS&E legislation.
- Problem solving ability, attention to detail.
- Organisation skills.
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to change.
- Coaching & mentoring skills
- General computer skills (MS office).
Working shedule – rotation basis (4 weeks on / 4 weeks off).
Location – Basra, Iraq.
