Your mission
Procurement Specialist will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services necessary for the smooth operation of our organization. You will be responsible for managing the procurement process, negotiating contracts, and maintaining strong vendor relationships to meet our service delivery needs while adhering to budgetary constraints.
Responsibilities
- Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers and service providers, maintaining positive relationships to ensure timely and quality service delivery.
- Cost Negotiation: Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers and service providers to secure cost-effective agreements while maintaining quality standards.
- Procurement Planning: Collaborate with department heads to develop procurement plans, understanding their specific needs and budgetary constraints.
- Market Research: Stay up-to-date with market trends, supplier capabilities, and industry best practices to inform procurement decisions.
- Budget Control: Monitor and control procurement budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance with financial guidelines.
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and manage contracts and agreements with suppliers, including terms, conditions, and performance metrics.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that purchased goods and services meet quality standards and specifications.
- Compliance: Maintain adherence to procurement policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards.
- Reporting: Generate reports on procurement activities, costs, and savings for management review.
Requirements
- To excel in this role, the ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A relevant certification (e.g., CSCP, CIPS) is a plus.
- Experience: Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in a service-oriented industry. (2 years of experience as minimum)
- Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation and contract management skills to secure favorable terms and pricing.
- Vendor Relationship Management: Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with vendors and service providers.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to make data-driven procurement decisions.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple procurement projects simultaneously.
- Technology Proficiency: Proficiency in procurement software and tools, as well as MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ethical Conduct: High ethical standards and integrity in all procurement activities.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing business needs and industry trends.
- Team Player: A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to address procurement challenges and optimize processes.
