As the Permit to Work Coordinator within the Operation team the breadth of work spans from the plant inlet to the export pipeline.
Ensuring that PTW updates/ changes are effectively communicated to all relevant personnel. Takes part and contributes meaningfully during PTW review meetings. Ensure a PTW tracking system is in place. Keeps track of valid work permits and ensures closure of work permits on completion of work. In addition is responsible for ensuring the compliance of company safety policy and contribute to eliminating and reducing risk.
The Permit to Work Coordinator reports to the Operation Manager under the leadership of the Operation Manager. Their peers include other PTW Coordinators, Control room operators, Technicians and contractors.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to responsibilities of PTW system and perform the role of Permit Issuer for the tasks performed
- Effective operation of the PTW system in the asset
- Ensures that the requirements for audits of the PTW process are complied with it, and that corrective actions resulting from audit findings are carried out.
- Participate in completion of PTW Effectiveness as applicable for each worksite.
- Approve by signature all categories of PTW, after completing the risk assessment and ensuring controls are in place.
- Ensure the PTW contains a clear description of the work to be done, its location, start time and duration and any limitations on the timing and scope of work are defined.
- Ensure risk assessment or safe work plan has identified the hazards that may be encountered during the task and the control measures required to reduce the risk to ALARP (As Low as Reasonably Practicable).
- Through management of PTW and the operation of an effective system of auditing on the facility/area, ensuring the permit is operated in accordance with the HSSE Standards.
- Ensures Supervisors meet required competencies prior to being granted the authority to authorize Medium Risk permits.
- Train PTW staff to be familiar with PTW System
- Supervise as need be application of permits control at the working site.
People Management
- May train others to ensure skill development within the team
- The incumbent must adhere to the annual HR cycle and meet deadlines within the appropriate timeframes

Qualifications
- Permit to Work position candidates must have a minimum of 5 years relevant experience with core knowledge of discipline to satisfy entry level requirements.
- Candidates must be fluent in English and Arabic.
- Iraqi Nationals with Basra Residency preferred for this role
