Previous experience in the oil and gas industry, preferably in a safety-related or permit to work coordination role, In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and industry best practices, excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team, experienced in onshore Greenfield and brownfield project with a very good knowledge of rules, procedures and International Codes and Standards, strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders, Degree in engineering, health and safety, or a related field, Certification in industrial safety or risk management (an asset).
Responsibilities
- Responsible for coordinating and overseeing the entire permit to work process.
- Ensuring strict adherence to safety requirements and operational procedures.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations in the oil and gas industry, as well as communication and risk management skills.
- Coordinate and oversee the permit to work process to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational procedures.
- Ensure that workers understand and adhere to safety requirements associated with permits to work.
- Collaborate with operational teams to safely plan and execute work activities.
- Identify and assess potential risks associated with tasks and work activities and recommend corrective measures.
- Provide training and support to employees on permit to work procedures and safety best practices.
- Responsible for the daily coordination of the Permit to Work (PTW) system for start-up operations.
- Maintain proper records of all permits and associated certificates raised in connection with operation and facility construction activities.
- Actively engage with commissioning and facilities construction teams in the on-site monitoring and auditing of permit to work activities to ensure those activities are being conducted.
- Provision of supervision, support and direction in all daily (PTW) activities to assure work is being carried in accordance with the CMS, permit to work and all other relevant procedures.
- Assist with coordination and forward planning to ensure that all permit requirements are pre-planned ready for start of next day’s work.
- Taking a lead role in ensuring the SIMOPS is not compromised by the issue of conflicting permits
- Tracks work permits through the entire life cycles from initiation to completion/close-out.
- Ensure record-keeping requirements are met. Maintains daily permit log, listing permit types of issues, location and scope of work.
- Facilitate and participate in higher level PTW audits.
- Attend all PTW & SIMOPS meetings.
- reading and understanding P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), SLDs (Single Line Diagrams), and any other relevant documents when performing isolation work to ensure safety, ensure that isolations are properly planned, executed, and controlled.
Qualifications
- Support and enforce project guidelines and Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) objectives.
- Attend HSE meetings and training when necessary.
- Participate in or lead Job Safety Analysis, make suggestions, stop dangerous situations, and report anomalies, accidents, and incidents.
The Phase 1 will restore, upgrade, and develop the current plant (CPF1) including: Restoration of initial CPF1 capacity; building a new export pipeline (24”, ~30km); restoration of CPF1 integrity and operability (dated 2008); flaring reduction by Q1/Q2 2026 and released water; development of new flowlines, pads, and electrification network for approximately 30 new wells; debottlenecking of the plant; upgrade of the Safety and Security facilities.
