Amentum

The Recreation Services Coordinator will be based at the Baghdad Embassy Compound (BEC) in Baghdad, Iraq and serve the Base Life Support Services (BLiSS) contract in support of the U.S. Department of State, in Baghdad, Iraq. This position will be responsible for coordination and implementation of Recreation Center programs and facility operations in accordance with the SOP’s and PAE Management objectives and will report to the Recreation Service Supervisor and Manager.

The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.

DUTIES:

  • Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
  • Comply with all Environmental Safety & Health and Quality Assurance requirements and goals. Provide information and materials to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation.
  • Maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the facility. Act immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency.
  • Implement appropriate emergency plan in the event of incidents and provide emergency care as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
  • Ensure bulletin boards are up to date with recent and upcoming flyers, as well as provide oversight in setup and tear down of compound wide Special Events and programs.
  • Direct Recreation Service Technicians in the performance of their duties.
  • Ensure Recreation Service employees adhere to Performance Work Statement (PWS) and SOP Procedures to include those for Recreation Services, Key Control, Quality, Safety, Property and others.
  • Present professional appearance and attitude always and maintain a high standard of customer service.
  • Perform various daily maintenance and cleaning duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility.
  • Prepare and maintain appropriate activity reports.
  • Adhere to SOP procedures, work instructions, and PAE policies and procedures.
  • Work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

REQUIRED:

  • Minimum Acceptable Experience Level:
    • Two (2) years’ experience in Customer Service-related field.
    • Two (2) years’ experience working in Sports/Recreation related field.
    • Experienced in Maintenance and Diagnostics of fitness machines
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Understanding of maintenance requirements for fitness machines.
    • Customer service skills and self-motivated with the ability to work independently in addition to working with a team.
    • Commitment to maintaining a high-performance team which delivers customer service excellence.
    • Ability to organize and oversee Special Events and activities.
    • Good physical condition to endure some physical exertion such as long periods of standing when overseeing programs. Recurring bending, stooping, stretching, twisting and heavy lifting (over 50 pounds). Ability to demonstrate physical fitness techniques.
    • Knowledge of principles and processes involved in supporting Recreation Service operations at an overseas facility.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
    • Cross-cultural sensitivity with an international perspective.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Must have intermediate level Excel skills and familiarity with other Microsoft Office programs (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
    • Ability to lead and be an active and functioning member of a team.
    • Expert communication skills to facilitate and disseminate information.
  • Education: A high school diploma or GED.
  • Passport, Licenses and Certifications: As part of pre-contingency requirements, by the time the visa process starts, candidates must possess a valid passport of home country with a minimum of 18 months remaining to expiration date with 8 blank pages. Valid drivers’ license from Home of Record.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Valid drivers’ license from Home of Record.
    • CPR/First Aid and AED Certifications. Highly Preferred, Not Required
  • Security Vetting: Already possess a US Government issued security clearance or Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) or be able to obtain a favorable MRPT certification or US Government clearance prior to being hired is required for the position. Must maintain eligibility at the required clearance level for the duration of the contract.
  • Language Skills: Satisfactory English proficiency to meet job requirements and to adhere and comply with safety, health, and security measures.
  • Citizenship: US Citizenship is not required.
  • Medical: Successfully complete and pass the medical and dental examinations as required by PAE and our customer for deployment to Iraq. Must maintain physical and dental requirements for duration of deployment.

DESIRED:

  • Experience working on DoD or DoS programs.
  • On (2) year internal experience in challenging locations, preferably working in the Middle East, with a working knowledge of customs and cultural differences.
  • Experience working with PAE.

WORKING AND LIVING CONDITIONS:

This position may be in a war zone, in an environment with harsh and dangerous working and living conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly be exposed to extreme and austere desert-like environment. Temperatures can reach 120- 130 degrees Fahrenheit/50-55 degrees Celsius during the summer months. Employees must be willing and able to perform regular job requirements in this austere, extreme environment, as well as willing and able to deploy to Iraq for extended periods. Work schedules are a minimum of 6 days per week and 12 hours per day. Employees must be willing and able to perform physical activities including, but not limited to, heavy lifting and moving of items, parts, assemblies, and equipment up to the safety regulation maximum; climbing in and out of equipment; crawling; and working outdoors. This includes being able to lift and carry 40 pounds of personal protective equipment for extended periods of time and being capable of running and ‘duck & cover’ during emergencies without putting oneself or others at risk.
