Senior Instrument & Control Engineer - IQ Talent Marketplace

Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Instrument & Control Engineer to strengthen our team in Basra, Iraq on a 6 weeks on /2 weeks off rotation cycle.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Instrumentation Design and Engineering

• Prepare and review instrumentation design deliverables (e.g. instrument data sheets, Cause and effects, alarm and Trips, Control narratives etc.).
• Conduct interdisciplinary checks of Electrical/Instrumentation/Piping/Mechanical drawings.
• Review vendor drawings for instrumentation equipment/package items.

Technical Support

• Provide technical support to the site team during design, engineering, and construction.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation-related issues.

Project Coordination

• Assist in coordinating instrumentation activities.
• Ensure compliance with industry, international, and client codes and standards.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in instrumentation design and engineering.
• Strong commitment to safety.
• Relevant experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Proficient in instrumentation software (e.g., SmartPlant Instrumentation).
• Familiarity with international codes and standards (e.g., ISA, IEC).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with electronic instrumentation conversion projects.
• Knowledge of control systems and automation.
• Previous experience working in the Middle East.

Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Excel, and Word.
