The Training & Competence Lead will operate within a new multi-energy project undergoing rapid expansion to fulfill manpower needs across four projects in various development stages. The team consists of a diverse mix of expatriates, nationals, and contractors. This role requires creating a robust HR framework and delivering effective HR management to provide efficient support to the business in a dynamic and challenging work environment.
This role is crucial in supporting the organization’s human resources development and competency enhancement, ensuring the successful delivery of training programs and supporting the overall growth and success of the multi-energy project.
Qualifications And Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in the Oil & Gas Industry, specifically in Training & Development roles.
- Certifications such as CPLP, APTD, IV, T&D, TSA-STA, EHR, ASE, BTLS, or PB are highly advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Team player with strong analytical skills; organized and discreet.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent command of the English language (both spoken and written).
- Iraqi nationals preferred.
Main Accountabilities
- Monitor and implement training programs to ensure they align with organizational goals and standards.
- Evaluate organizational strengths and weaknesses to identify training gaps and develop targeted training solutions.
- Translate training requirements into comprehensive programs that facilitate employee career progression and competency development.
- Develop an annual training program with detailed teaching plans and timelines.
- Ensure the successful implementation of all training programs, maintaining alignment with business needs.
- Consult with legal counsel to ensure training programs comply with relevant legislation and industry regulations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual training reports, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Lead the preparation and execution of training plans for the affiliate, including developing nationalization strategies.
- Conduct training evaluations and manage on-the-job training initiatives to enhance workforce skills.
- Follow up on training actions outlined in individual development plans and ensure timely completion.
- Oversee all administrative and logistical arrangements related to the training of operators and maintenance technicians.
- Lead the planning and execution of training campaigns, ensuring optimal participation and outcomes.
- Take charge of the induction process for new hires, providing comprehensive orientation and onboarding.
- Review and assist in the preparation of quarterly, annual, and other required reports related to national content.
- Act as the supervisor of the training platform, providing training and induction for staff on its use.
- Support additional staff development activities, offering guidance and resources as needed.
- Design and order the necessary resources and materials needed for training sessions.
