MAG Aerospace

Position Summary

MAG Aerospace is seeking a highly qualified individual to support a rotational position across various AORs. The Operations Officer is r esponsible for oversight of deployed MAG personnel and works under the Site Lead. The Operations Officer will be qualified on the UAS platform and expected to maintain currency. Further duties would include daily interaction with the Site Lead to ensure successful mission completion.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to :

  • Administrative manager of MAG employees as it pertains to timekeeping, record keeping, and other tasks as designated by the MAG Program Manager.
  • Focal point for dissemination of information from MAG Program Manager and Site Lead.
  • Focal point to address concerns between MAG employees and the Site Lead.
  • Document and track training, schedules, and evaluations as required.
  • Ensure missions reports [situation report (SITREP), personnel status (PERSTAT), and maintenance status] are completed as required.
  • Monitor the number of data collection hours flown, any safety problems, responses to special requests, supply status, personnel status, etc.
  • Be the key point of contact during UAS emergencies. Allow the operators to respond as they are trained, advise the chain of command of problems when they occur, and respond to the situation as required. Keep local ATC and multiple internet relay chat (MIRC) participants informed (nature of emergency – navigation problems, engine issues, lost link, etc.).
  • Will maintain operator and maintenance qualifications and conduct flight operations on a regular basis.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge And Skills

The minimum skills and knowledge include:

  • Previous experience working in positions of leadership and management
  • Aerosonde Operator and Maintenance qualified
  • Must have five (3) years of experience relating to aviation (preferably unmanned systems)
  • Must have a minimum of 2,000 flight hours in unmanned or manned platform.
  • Must be physically fit for deployment to an austere environment with no comfort access
  • Must have a current U.S. Passport with expiration greater than one year from date of hire
  • Must have the ability to travel OCONUS for approximately 120 days at a time
  • Must have the ability to fluently read, write, speak & understand English
  • Must have moderate to advanced computer skills

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited 4-year college/university or equivalent professional experience.

Desired Qualifications

  • Proficient in Piccolo Command Center GCS software
  • S. Military Trained UAS/UAV operator
  • Deployment Experience is highly preferred
  • Prior military service is highly preferred

Other Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Maintain a SECRET clearance
  • Must have a valid FAA Class 2 medical certificate (or able to meet standards)

Physical Demands

  • Must successfully complete a deployment physical examination including immunizations.
  • Must have willingness/ability to stay on duty for extended periods of time, as mission dictates.

Duty Environment

  • Be willing to work in hardship and hazardous locations.
  • Candidate should expect to be hired on a probationary period for the duration of his/her first OCONUS rotation.

Travel

  • 60% or more during the course of the year. Must maintain a flexible travel schedule. Travel which may include austere environments.
  • Be willing to travel for long periods of time, work long hours and / or non-regular hours with minimal notice.
