The Mechanical Supervisor will be based at one of two Amentum sites in Iraq and serve the Operations and Maintenance Support Services (OMSS) contract in support of the U.S. Department of State. This position will be responsible for the daily oversight of Mechanical Departments under O&M, ensuring professional and quality services are provided to the Customer in accordance with program requirements and will report to the O&M Manager. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.

DUTIES:

  • Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
  • Comply with all Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements and goals. Provide information and materials to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation.
  • Directly responsible for all O&M Mechanical Departments
  • Oversee general and specialized maintenance and repairs, as well as small construction projects; manage a team of maintenance supervisors, leads, technicians, assistants and provide supervision, training, and development for assigned associates.
  • Inspect work performed by tradesmen to ensure that operations and maintenance specifications and codes meet established industry standards; instruct staff in company work policies and procedures; review work orders and work order reports for accuracy; ensure that the quality of work being performed is completed on-time; inspect equipment to ensure it is maintained correctly.
  • Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of the facilities and grounds in order to determine the type of work required to meet contract requirements.
  • Direct and oversee the daily performance of the organization, planning, scheduling, and training processes to meet the requirements of the contract.
  • Assign tasks and establish and enforce standards of conduct and performance in the work environment.
  • Inspect and audit in-process and completed work to ensure work meets SOW and quality standards.
  • Plan, organize, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks under austere conditions to perform job functions in an orderly manner.
  • Ensure and supervise Amentum compliance with set and planned Functional Quality Control for the departments.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

REQUIRED:

  • Minimum Acceptable Experience Level:
    • Five (5) years’ Operations & Maintenance (O&M) or service-oriented experience for mechanical based departments (HVAC, Small Appliance, BAS Systems)
    • Two (2) years’ supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to manage staff.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes involved in supporting contract responsibilities at an overseas facility.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity with an international perspective.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to become an active and functioning member of a team.
  • Ability to be innovative and be an agent for change.
  • Expert communication skills to facilitate and disseminate information.
  • Education: A high school diploma or GED. Associate’s degree is preferred; though additional experience may be considered in lieu of a college degree.
  • Passport, Licenses and Certifications: As part of pre-contingency requirements, by the time the visa process starts, candidates must possess a valid passport with a minimum of 18 months remaining to expiration date with 8 blank pages.
    • Valid drivers’ license.
  • Security Vetting: Already possess a US Government issued security clearance Top Secret Clearance or be able to obtain US Government clearance prior to being hired is required for the position. Must maintain eligibility at the required certification or clearance level for the duration of the contract.
  • Language Skills: Satisfactory English proficiency to meet job requirements and to adhere and comply with safety, health, and security measures.
  • Medical: Successfully complete and pass the medical and dental examinations as required by Amentum and our customer for deployment to Iraq. Must maintain physical and dental requirements for duration of deployment.

DESIRED:

  • Experience in OCONUS operations and maintenance projects in an international environment.
  • Previous work experience in harsh environmental conditions is a plus.
  • Experience working with Amentum / PAE
