This is a highly strategic role within the department and the ideal candidate will be at Principal or Lead level in their career with extensive years of experience within the industry in a similar role.
The Project Deveopment Engineer would work in the Operations Technical department and would be involved in day to day operations support for management.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the WQ-1 projects register with status
- Coordinate the prioritization of project opportunities working with WQ-1 leadership
- Work in a multifunctional team to evaluate project development alternatives
- Assess and evaluate cost effective technologies
- Select the concept and execution plan that best satisfy business objectives
- Develop cost and schedule estimates
- Advance the Projects through a gated process
- Define the Project Objectives and Strategies
- Develop the business justification
- Develop Technical Basis
- Support Projects to develop the Execution Basis
- Works with Operations to develop the Operations Basis
- Coordinate with 3 rd party engineering support, if required, to evaluate development opportunities
- Monitor and follow-up on approvals
- Lead project development until handover to executing organization
- Oversee the progression of projects to completion in some cases
Qualifications
- Engineering degree in Chemical/Mechanical or equivalent
- 5-10 years of Oil and Gas Experience. Lesser than 5 years will be considered for exceptional candidates
- Experience with project planning/execution
- Excellent academic background
- Strong Knowledge of oil and production facilities
- Understanding of the principles of cost estimating preferred
- Good teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Good organizational, coordination, planning, and interface skills
- Strong communication skills in English required
- Strong Time Management skills
- Recent engineering graduates or students graduating shortly with exceptional academic accomplishment may apply
