SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR- (DTS-PO)

As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen AND an active TS/Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI) clearance or the ability to obtain a TS/Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI) clearance to be considered.

The Systems Administrator (DTS-PO) provides expert-level support for enterprise servers and related networked systems, ensuring mission-critical resources are always available. This role acts as the principal technical point of contact between BDSC, DTS-PO, and customers, serving as the lead engineer for DTS-PO ONYX Unified Global Transport (UGT) network and SC-11 Satellite system. Responsibilities also include managing, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting DTS-PO network appliances and infrastructure, conducting feasibility studies, developing standard operating procedures, resolving hardware/software issues, and performing preventive maintenance.

SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR- (DTS-PO) Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide expert-level support for enterprise servers and related networked systems.
  • Serve as principal technical point of contact between BDSC, DTS-PO, and customers.
  • Act as lead engineer for DTS-PO ONYX Unified Global Transport (UGT) network and SC-11 Satellite system.
  • Manage, install, maintain, and troubleshoot DTS-PO network appliances located at BDSC’s Transmission Control Facility.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to modify information systems to meet user network and telecommunication requirements.
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures.
  • Resolve hardware/software interface and interoperability problems.
  • Maintain all aspects of an enterprise network, ensuring mission-critical resources are always available.
  • Perform installation of new workstations and troubleshoot various issues.
  • Collaborate with other IT professionals to identify and troubleshoot major system outages.
  • Conduct trend analyses when necessary.
  • Travel to off-site locations to install and maintain equipment and support special projects.
  • Support and maintain classified workstations, servers, and support radio and telephone equipment.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR- (DTS-PO) Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience or 13 years job-related experience in lieu of education.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Previous Help Desk experience.
  • Experience in installing and maintaining SharePoint servers and Microsoft SQL servers.
  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent required.
  • CompTIA A+ certification desired but not required.
  • Microsoft certification desired but not required.
  • Knowledge of Storage Area Networks (SANs) and common hardware troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of standard operating procedures for common systems tasks.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Top Secret clearance with eligibility for access to SCI required.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
