Samaritan’s Purse is seeking a Children’s Heart Project Program Manager to join the International Field Staff overseas in the Middle East.As a Children’s Heart Project Program Manager, you will provide direction and oversight for Children’s Heart Project (CHP) implementation under the direction of the CHP Director at International Headquarters with the aim to send children with congenital heart defects to America and Israel for surgery. Management responsibilities include oversight program decisions and evangelism strategies, coordinating and managing the budget, and supporting field staff as needed.

A day in the life of a Children’s Heart Project Program Manager:

In the role of Children’s Heart Project Program Manager, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Leads Children’s Heart Project (CHP) and all related activities according to Samaritan’s Purse policies, maintaining awareness of legal and cultural requirements
  • Represents Samaritan’s Purse and Children’s Heart Project to hospital administrators, pediatric cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, government officials, donors, churches, other NGOs, and visitors
  • Consults and liaises with hospital, visiting teams, and medical follow-up of Children’s Heart Project children on medical exams and procedures
  • Provides monthly reports of the Children’s Heart Project program
  • Manages and stewards the project budget ensuring that funds are spent in accordance with Samaritan’s Purse policies. Reviews, revises, and updates annual budget
  • Recruits, selects, trains, leads, and develops National Staff to become leaders themselves. This includes full-time staff and interpreters. Provides spiritual and professional leadership mentorship to National Staff
  • Oversees and manages Children’s Heart Project Expat volunteers, including transport nurses and physicians
  • Oversees preparation and orientation of Children’s Heart Project families and children

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university in Healthcare field, or related field of study
  • 2-4+ years related experience and/or training
  • Healthcare Professional: MD, PICU, RN, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or mid-level practitioner (preferred)
  • Program Management experience (preferred)
  • Proven management and leadership experience (required)
  • Clear understanding of the workings of donors and their perspectives, requirements, and standards (general knowledge)
  • Ability to coordinate activities with other agencies, build and maintain positive working relationships
  • Strong project management, organizational, planning, and interpersonal skills. A strong team player and adept at creating a strong team spirit

Job Location: In aMiddle East remote location

Type: Full-Time

Language Requirement: Fluency in English (required) / Arabic (preferred)

Travel Expectations: Ability to travel to field sites to monitor projects. Maintaining required travel documents and vaccinations for entry into foreign countries will be necessary.
