Job Purpose: –

Reporting to the Community Health Workers Team Leader, the Community Health Worker will conduct community-based activities to support IMC’s programs in the field.

 

Main Responsibilities: –

  • Conduct household visits within the assigned community and collect basic information about the population and health issues.
  • Discuss common health issues and refer cases to the medical team in the mobile or static clinics or encourage them to attend the appropriate health facilities.
  • Organize and conduct Health Education sessions with the community, during health clinics and distributions.
  • Conduct health, hygiene, and nutrition awareness sessions with the community either as waiting to access services, health, distributions, etc, or within the IDP’s community through household daily visits.
  • Ensure that the community members are aware of any health campaigns, and health screening sessions as well.
  • Providing community feedback on health, nutrition, and hygiene promotion to the health and hygiene supervisor.
  • Assist in educating the community on the use of Hygiene kits and other NFI as distributed.
  • Provide timely reporting as required by the community Health officer.
  • Assist in public health assessments.

  • High School graduate.

Experience: –

  • Good knowledge.
  • Previous experience with NGOs in similar programs.

Competency: –

  • Very good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Ability to conduct outreach at the community level.
  • Local residents of the area.
  • Be able to work in a multicultural environment.
  • Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and work ethic.
  • Respect the code of conduct and policies of the IMC and the standards.
  • Previous experience in delivering information or teaching.

 

Other:-

  • Travel on regular basis within Iraq and KRI areas.
