Data Service Lead – 12 months Contract – Iraq

Do you have data analytics experience, and are you seeking a new contract in Basra? NES Fircroft is looking for a Data Service Lead, and the role comes with an attractive contract daily rate.

As a Data Service Lead, you will contribute at every stage of the upstream value chain and make a significant impact on how efficiently and effectively the firm’s business operates.

In your first few weeks in this Data Service Lead role, you can expect to:

  • Promote data standardisation and eliminate data management inefficiencies surrounding data ingestion, cleansing, transformation, migration and analytics
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of business functionalities and departmental data management processes across businesses and educate users in use of data assets
  • Embed best practices via training, coaching and mentoring, and feedback continuous improvement suggestions to departmental Leads
  • Define and utilize statistical tools to solve industry-specific problems in varying fields, such as economics and engineering
  • Determine and enforce specific security and privacy requirements for each piece of data, especially related to privacy laws, industry regulations, and corporate compliance mandates
  • Take inventory of all unstructured data – the big data challenge – determining its format, security, ownership, and quality, determining which unstructured data should – and shouldn’t – be captured.

Role

To apply for this Data Service Lead role, you will need a full-time bachelor’s degree in Pure Science or Computer Science or Engineering with Mathematics, plus 5 years of experience working in data analytics or data management in large organisations and large-scale data management & integration projects. You will also require the following:

  • 10 years of data analytics and relevant IT experience
  • Broad understanding of Oil & Gas upstream resources, processes, and functions
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of IT tools and techniques such as IT systems, application designs, IT networks, cyber security, data security, etc
  • Experience in database management systems (T-SQL, MDX, PLSQL, DAX), Data Modelling (Erwin; other data modelling Tools) and data storage/ETL processes (DataStage| Informatica|SSIS)
  • Experience in data analytics and reporting tools (Power BI, SAP BI, Spotfire, SSRS, Python, R), large-scale data cleansing & consolidation projects and spatial data management (FME, ESRI ArcGIS)
  • Knowledge of data governance strategy with experience in business analytics for data projects and data project design.
