Title: Obstetrician Gynaecologist

Reports to:  Midwife Activity Manger

Location:  Nasiriyah Project

Main Purpose:

Implement gynaecological and obstetrician procedures, performing any other prior treatment required, during or immediately after a woman has given birth in order to improve women’s reproductive health and to reduce pregnancy, delivery and neonatology risks. This will be done in accordance with MSF policies, protocols and universal hygiene standards and in multidisciplinary collaboration with other medical doctors and midwife services,

 

Accountabilities

 

• Ensure patients’ right to privacy and confidentiality is respected
• Ensure the implementation of MSF clinical guidelines and protocols related to gynaecology and obstetrics in order to minimize clinical risk and to extend best reproductive practices.
• Perform diagnosis and treatment of patients using obstetric protocols.
• Conduct assisted deliveries to include; Vacuum delivery, breech extraction and management of shoulder dystocia.
• Take charge of patient referrals to the next level of care
• Respond to all day and night emergency calls from maternity (Delivery room/ANC/PNC)
• Ensure all neonatal/ Maternal mortality reviews are done,
• Participate in the training of Nurses and Midwives on obstetric skills

 

 

 

 

Requirements

Education	Essential Bachelor of Medicine
Experience	Desirable at least 2-years work experience in Gynaecology department
Languages	English is an asset in communication with work environment
